PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Glass Jaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tukka Hirvonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jaw comes into the arena with Glassjaw-Siberian Kiss blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Tukka Hirvonen!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hirvonen wants to clinch.
Hirvonen swings for the body but Jaw moves out of range.
Jaw takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jaw misses with a wild combination.
Jaw throws a lazy right hand but Hirvonen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jaw throws a head kick that Hirvonen semi-blocks.
Jaw is looking to score with low kicks.
Jaw uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hirvonen.
Jaw takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jaw. Hirvonen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jaw.
Jaw feints and then cracks Hirvonen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hirvonen down.

Hirvonen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hirvonen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jaw manages to avoid it.
Jaw lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hirvonen will feel that in the morning.
A swing and a miss from Jaw.
Jaw throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Jaw displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hirvonen.
Jaw shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hirvonen but Hirvonen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hirvonen misses with a double jab.
Jaw throws a low kick but Hirvonen avoids it.
Hirvonen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jaw manages to avoid it.
Hirvonen wants to clinch.

Jaw throws a series of punches but Hirvonen avoids them all with ease.
Hirvonen lands a jab to Jaw's midsection.
Hirvonen bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jaw's head.
Hirvonen jabs Jaw to the body, keeping him at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jaw.

Jaw tries to move to mount but Hirvonen blocks the move with his legs.

Jaw slows the pace down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hirvonen can't do much from the bottom here.
Hirvonen is looking for a sweep.
Jaw happy to just control the position for now.
Hirvonen is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Jaw in the domination position with Hirvonen hanging on.
Hirvonen tries to buck Jaw off but Jaw is having none of it.
Jaw trying to control the position but Hirvonen is working away.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jaw throws out a leg kick but Hirvonen moves out of range and Jaw only half commits.
Hirvonen swings away with a body shot that misses
and Jaw counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hirvonen thinking.
Jaw swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hirvonen counters with a left and a right that stings Jaw.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hirvonen connects with a jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hirvonen scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jaw in his tracks.

Jaw is rocked!
Jaw drops his hands momentarily. Hirvonen doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Jaw staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Jaw doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
