The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hickel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hickel showed some decent athleticism there.
Hickel looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Harris pushes Hickel off looking to stand but Hickel dives back in and keeps control.
Hickel content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Harris is looking to control Hickel's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Harris avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harris regains full guard. Nicely done.
Harris is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hickel scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Harris manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hickel manages to get himself to full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Harris drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hickel looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hickel looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hickel!

Hickel works to advance to full mount. Harris defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Harris is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Hickel connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Hickel looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Harris tries to hold on but Hickel postures up.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hickel tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
