Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Grayson Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes to the cage accompanied by Skrillex - Bangarang. Christian Jacobs has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Grayson Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christian Jacobs!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Jacobs finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Williams tries for a takedown but Jacobs circles away easily
and Jacobs counters with a leg kick.

and Jacobs counters with a nice body shot.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Grayson Williams. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jacobs feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jacobs must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Williams escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jacobs gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Williams manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Williams has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Williams lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Williams can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jacobs is looking to escape.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Williams breaks from Jacobs's wrist control and lands an elbow.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jacobs connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Williams momentarily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jacobs throws a strike but Williams rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Williams is looking to work some ground and pound but Jacobs has wrist control.
Jacobs lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Williams!

Jacobs is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Williams to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Williams shrugs it off.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jacobs is taking a breather. Williams says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Jacobs wants to pass the guard but Williams is defending well.
Jacobs thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Williams's head.

Jacobs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williams swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Williams's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Jacobs breaks from Williams's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Christian Jacobs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Grayson Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jacobs rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Williams moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jacobs uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Williams.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Jacobs is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Williams is just riding it out for now. Jacobs eventually gives up the hold.

Christian Jacobs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jacobs has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
