Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sub Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrone Spong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spong has chosen I Will Not Bow as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spong lands a jab to Jones's midsection.
Spong swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jones.
Spong misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Jones counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Spong changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Spong tries to clinch
and Jones counters with a good low kick that Spong was not able to check.
Jones keeps the fight on the outside.
A cross from Spong lands.

Spong drives through and clinches with Jones against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Spong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Spong scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Jones staying out of range there.
A slapping body kick lands there for Jones.

and Jones counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Spong lands with a good body shot.

Jones throws a head kick but Spong moves out of range.
Spong fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.
Spong jabs Jones to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Jones misses with a head kick.
Spong lands a nice shot to the body.

Jones fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Spong to the ground. Jones is now in Spong's guard.

Jones postures up in Spong's guard and throws a big left but Spong blocks it.
Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Spong trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tyrone Spong.
Spong throws the left hand but Jones avoids the punch easily.
Jones takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Spong scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Spong stalks Jones and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jones's face. Jones staggers backwards, shaken.
Spong changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Spong throws a lazy right hand but Jones sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Good standup being displayed there by Spong as he connects with a hook.

Jones tries to clinch up but Spong circles away and keeps his distance.
Spong connects with a crisp jab.
Spong misses with a hook

and Jones counters with a takedown into side control.
Spong is looking to reverse the position.
Spong wants to control but Jones postures up.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jones wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Spong, who protects the arm well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
I wouldn't like to be where Spong is right now.

Spong wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Jones has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Spong's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Spong is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Jones!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Sub Jones!
