McKendrick keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Stark.
McKendrick looks to land a right hand but Stark moved out of range.
Stark throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

C G Stark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stark avoids a punch combination nicely.
McKendrick takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Stark misses with a body shot.
McKendrick is looking to land body kicks.
McKendrick takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Stark catches McKendrick with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Stark is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! McKendrick had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
McKendrick slips a jab and a cross from Stark.
Stark scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
McKendrick throws a head kick that Stark semi-blocks.

Stark's corner calls for a 1-2. Stark obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
McKendrick uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Stark.

and McKendrick counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stark won't be happy with that.
McKendrick tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McKendrick has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Stark seems a little lost for a moment, as McKendrick dominates the positioning.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McKendrick tries to move to mount but Stark blocks the move with his legs.
McKendrick wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Stark, who protects the arm well.
McKendrick fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
McKendrick creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Stark sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A lull in the action here.
McKendrick has an Americana. Stark didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! McKendrick is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if McKendrick hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
