Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kimo Kanoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gianfranco Pagliera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pagliera has chosen Rammstein - Mein Herz Brennt as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kanoa throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Pagliera counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Kanoa is lucky that one didn't land flush.

and Pagliera counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Pagliera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kanoa swivels though and keeps the full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gianfranco Pagliera hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Pagliera decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kanoa's guard.

Pagliera thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Pagliera escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kanoa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kanoa is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kanoa wants to take a breather but Pagliera is having none of it.

Pagliera is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kanoa pulls his head out easily.
Kanoa wants to stand but Pagliera has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kanoa just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
You can see the frustration on Pagliera's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Pagliera dives in and grabs Kanoa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kanoa pushes down on Pagliera's head and hops out.
Pagliera displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kanoa throws out the jab.
Kimo Kanoa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kanoa throws a leg kick but Pagliera sees it coming and moves out of range.
Kanoa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kanoa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pagliera sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kanoa connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pagliera is still on wobbly legs! Can Kanoa finish him?
Kanoa throws an uppercut from hell that sends Pagliera clean off his feet! He's out cold! Kanoa stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
