PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Barack Angle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabrice Prince (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Prince has chosen Muzion - La vi ti neg as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Fabrice Prince!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prince throws a one two combo.


It looks like Barack Angle has been cut.
Prince throws a right and a left that Angle avoids nicely.
A slow jab from Prince misses its intended target.
Prince misses with a left hand

and Angle counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Angle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Angle stands and steps away. Prince gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Prince misses with a series of wild punches.
Prince lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Angle circles away quickly and effectively.
Angle steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Prince.
Prince throws a series of strikes that have Angle backpedaling.
Angle keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Prince.

Angle closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Angle stands up out of the half guard.

Angle shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Angle escapes and gets back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Angle takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Prince thuds his right hand into Angle's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Prince throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Angle.

Angle closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Prince's guard.

Angle decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Prince, up you get!
Angle bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Prince throws a right and a left that both miss.
Fabrice Prince seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Angle misses with a body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Angle darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Angle postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Prince to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Prince swinging wildly here.
Prince throws a series of punches but Angle avoids them all with ease.

Angle shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Prince napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Angle stands up.
Angle has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Prince finds it's way round the side to connect with Angle's head.
Prince throws a shot from downtown. Angle moves away and avoids it.
Prince is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Angle.

Angle looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Angle gets to his feet. Prince looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Prince misses with a few strikes there.
Prince scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

A jab-cross combination lands for Prince and sends Angle crashing to the mat! Prince follows him down to the mat - Angle regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


Angle is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Angle is defending against the submission attempts here by Prince.
Oh Angle is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Prince wants to work for an arm triangle but Angle is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Angle pushes Prince off looking to stand but Prince dives back in and keeps control.
Angle seems to have got his legs back now.

Angle manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Prince throws the left hand but Angle avoids the punch easily.
Prince jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Prince throws the left hand but Angle avoids the punch easily.
No joy there for Prince, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Prince throws a nice looking combination but Angle bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Angle shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Prince manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Prince is working an open guard so Angle takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Prince fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Angle feints and as Prince raises his hands in defense, Angle changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Prince throws a series of strikes that have Angle backpedaling.
Prince looks gassed!

Angle dives in and scores a takedown into Prince's guard.

Angle stands up and waves to Prince to follow him.

Prince gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Angle to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Prince is looking to stand back up but Angle counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Prince.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Barack Angle will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Barack Angle's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Prince throws a series of punches but Angle avoids them all with ease.
Angle ducks under a wild hook from Prince.
A punch combination from Prince misses.

Angle throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Prince was covering up waiting for the punch and Angle finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Prince is working an open guard so Angle takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Angle drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Angle decides to stand back up.
Prince scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


Barack Angle's cut is getting worse.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Angle moves away from the strike by Prince.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Prince. Those never looked like landing.
Angle takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Prince throws a monster overhand right that drops Angle! Prince follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fabrice Prince!
Fabrice Prince seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
