The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
William shoots in but Johnsson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Johnsson throws an off balance right hand
and William counters with a nice double leg into guard.
William pushes down on Johnsson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Johnsson scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but William manages to mount him!
Johnsson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

William takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

William jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Johnsson walks away with a smile on his face. William gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
William fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Johnsson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
William just misses with a punch to the body.
Johnsson has managed to clinch.
Johnsson misses with a hook from the clinch.
Johnsson tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and William avoids it.
William tries for a takedown. No joy.
John Johnsson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Whonjon William.

William has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Johnsson is trying to keep an underhook but William manages to get the takedown into half guard.

William cracks Johnsson with a big right hand but Johnsson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnsson is working to avoid the ground and pound but William connects with a decent elbow.
William is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Johnsson's shoulder. That is not cool.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now William is on top in guard.
