The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Schnitz counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Griffin wants to get back to his feet but Schnitz passes into half guard.
Griffin has hold of Schnitz's hands but Schnitz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Schnitz content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Griffin manages to escape and get back to his feet!

and Schnitz counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Griffin!
