The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tolin moves in looking to clinch but Takahashi pushes him off.
Tolin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Takahashi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Takahashi.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Takahashi is looking for a kimura but Tolin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Takahashi to get the leverage.

Tolin is looking to control Takahashi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tolin avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Takahashi is looking to advance position but Tolin won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Takahashi counters with a single leg into guard. Tolin didn't expect that.
