PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Atlister The Demon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kron Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Demon comes to the cage accompanied by Demon. The crowd seem to be enjoying Gracie's choice of entrance music: The Bravery - time won't let me go. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Atlister The Demon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kron Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The Demon is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as The Demon is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie is looking to advance position but The Demon won't allow it.

Gracie shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Kron Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The Demon is looking to slow Gracie down with leg kicks.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. The Demon defends it easily.
The Demon passes Gracie's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The Demon is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The Demon misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gracie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on The Demon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Atlister The Demon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The Demon works his foot free and advances to mount.
The Demon misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The Demon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The Demon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The Demon cracks Gracie with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The Demon trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The Demon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The Demon unloads with some shots from mount but Gracie bucks and avoids them well.
The Demon throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Gracie is looking to get to half guard.
The Demon lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The Demon trying to control but Gracie is having none of it.
Gracie takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The Demon is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gracie can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The Demon wants to control the action but instead Gracie gets a body lock and reverses into The Demon's guard! Nice work!

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting The Demon here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Gracie walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Gracie might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Well The Demon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
