Speed comes to the cage accompanied by Sucker Punch / Army Of Me. St Peters has chosen Time By Culture Club as his entrance music. Nathan St Peters has the better chin. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speed digs a good body shot into St Peters's ribs.
Nice straight punches there by Speed. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Speed.
St Peters doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Speed counters with a head kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A short right from Speed.
Speed misses with a hook from the clinch.
Speed makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Speed misses with a punch on the inside.

Speed breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Speed escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
St Peters displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Speed throws out the jab.
Speed connects with a solid leg kick.
Speed misses the shot to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
St Peters has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from St Peters there as he acknowledges the shot.

and Speed counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
St Peters tries for a takedown but Speed circles away easily
and Speed makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Speed bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of St Peters's head.

St Peters takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

We're going to have a standup here because Connor Speed wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Speed lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Speed stalling away here and it's allowed St Peters to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Speed is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that St Peters can do to turn this around?
St Peters takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Connor Speed overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Speed is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
