Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Ferdinand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lewis Ridgeon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ridgeon is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: who let the dogs out. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Thomas Ferdinand!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lewis Ridgeon!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferdinand with a poor takedown

and Ridgeon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ridgeon.
Ferdinand goes for a takedown attempt but Ridgeon pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ferdinand closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ridgeon circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Ferdinand. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ferdinand lands with a nice body punch.
Ferdinand misses with a takedown attempt
and Ridgeon counters with a nice body kick.
Ferdinand gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

Ferdinand lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ridgeon at a distance.

Ferdinand takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ferdinand, as that shot connected.
Ridgeon misses with a head kick.

Ridgeon clinches.

Ridgeon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ridgeon tries to clinch but Ferdinand is having none of it.

Ferdinand gets tackled into the cage by Ridgeon. Ridgeon maintains the clinch.

Ridgeon has Ferdinand pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ridgeon pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ferdinand tumbling to the mat - Ridgeon dives into Ferdinand's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ridgeon missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Ferdinand will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ridgeon throws an elbow that misses. Ferdinand uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ridgeon's guard. Nice move by Ferdinand!
Ridgeon is adopting a defensive guard.

Ferdinand is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ridgeon is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ridgeon has escaped and now he's on top!

Ferdinand has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ridgeon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Ridgeon throws a strike but Ferdinand rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Ridgeon keeping moving, preventing Ferdinand from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ridgeon pulls Ferdinand in close to prevent any damage.

Ferdinand drops back looking for a leg! Ridgeon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ridgeon manages to kick Ferdinand off! Ferdinand jumps back into Ridgeon's guard.
Ferdinand won't allow Ridgeon to sweep him here.

Ferdinand sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ridgeon's guard.

Ferdinand looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Ferdinand is working for a kimura but Ridgeon is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Lewis Ridgeon will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Ridgeon takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ferdinand looks for a takedown but Ridgeon sprawls well.

Ridgeon rushes Ferdinand and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Ridgeon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ferdinand has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ridgeon has managed to get both his arms back between Ferdinand's legs - danger averted.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ridgeon's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Ridgeon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ferdinand. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
