Pacquiao has chosen Sometimes when we Fight as his entrance music. Floyd Pacquiao has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Nakki Makkara's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Floyd Pacquiao!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makkara defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pacquiao.
Makkara doesn't manage to clinch there - Pacquiao circles away.
Pacquiao closes this distance looking for a takedown but Makkara circles away.
Makkara tries to clinch but Pacquiao moves out of range.
Makkara misses with a right hand
letting Pacquiao counter with a right hand.
Pacquiao shoots in but no luck this time.
Nakki Makkara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Floyd Pacquiao.
Makkara scores with a punch to the head.
Makkara lands with a cross.
Makkara throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pacquiao on the side of the head.
Pacquiao misses with a wild body shot.
Pacquiao takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Pacquiao showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Makkara.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters circling - Pacquiao throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Nice body punch from Makkara.
A telegraphed right hand from Makkara misses the target.
Makkara scores with a hook.
Pacquiao uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Makkara.
Makkara lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pacquiao circles away quickly and effectively.
Makkara is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Pacquiao throws the left hand but Makkara avoids the punch easily.
Makkara stuffs the takedown.
Makkara is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Makkara bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pacquiao's head.
Makkara takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Makkara thows a left - swing and a miss!
Pacquiao on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Makkara sizes up Pacquiao with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Makkara scores with a hook.
Pacquiao takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pacquiao. Makkara does a little dance to reset his feet.

Pacquiao shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Pacquiao wants to work for an arm triangle but Makkara is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Pacquiao is thwarting Makkara's attempts to control the position.
Makkara is positioning himself well to prevent Pacquiao advancing to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Pacquiao seems to be working for a kimura but Makkara defends the submission attempt.
Pacquiao sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Pacquiao is working for a kimura but Makkara is defending it quite comfortably.
Pacquiao tries to pass to full mount but Makkara defends it.

Pacquiao is looking for a kimura but Makkara is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pacquiao to get the leverage.

Pacquiao seems to be looking for submissions.
Makkara is trying is best to control the position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pacquiao not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Makkara is trying to stand up here but Pacquiao is controlling him well.

Pacquiao is working for a kimura but Makkara is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Makkara pushes Pacquiao off looking to stand but Pacquiao dives back in and keeps control.
Pacquiao is looking to take a break and control but Makkara is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Makkara is pressing down on Pacquiao's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Makkara wants to sweep but no luck.
Pacquiao controls from within his opponent's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Makkara keeping moving, preventing Pacquiao from controlling successfully.
Makkara looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Pacquiao puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Pacquiao wants to pass to mount but Makkara is defending the position.
Pacquiao is trying to control. Makkara wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Pacquiao uses his free foot to push down on Makkara's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Makkara.
Pacquiao trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Makkara is wriggling around trying to escape.
Pacquiao can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Makkara is looking to escape.
Makkara wants to try and get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Nakki Makkara will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Makkara lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Pacquiao shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Makkara pinned against the cage. Makkara gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Horrible takedown by Pacquiao or perhaps it was just good defense by Makkara which made him look bad.
A big left from Pacquiao misses.
Makkara fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pacquiao manages to avoid it.
Makkara shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Pacquiao eats them both and turns towards Makkara to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


Pacquiao is rocked!

Makkara closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Pacquiao is still on wobbly legs! Can Makkara finish him?
Makkara stalling the fight.
Makkara dips a shoulder and cracks Pacquiao with a mighty uppercut! Pacquiao falls back against the cage and Makkara unloads with a barrage of strikes! Pacquiao is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Makkara screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nakki Makkara!
