And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira throws a combination. Carthew tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Bobby Carthew has been cut.
Carthew fails with a takedown attempt.
Carthew gets a clinch.
Pereira tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Pereira goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Pereira misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Pereira can't find room to land a body shot as Carthew controls the action.
Pereira prevents the takedown attempt.
Carthew pulls guard.
Carthew can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pereira controls the pace.

Carthew is trying to keep Pereira in close.
Thiago Pereira has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Carthew moves forwards but Pereira connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Pereira connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Nice sprawl there from Pereira as Carthew shoots in.
Thiago Pereira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Carthew.
Pereira fails in his attempt to clinch.

Carthew tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pereira just stands there and leans against the cage.
Carthew drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Carthew is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Carthew pulls guard.
Pereira trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Thiago Pereira.
Pereira slips a jab from Carthew.
Pereira lands a nice shot to the body.
Carthew fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pereira avoids it really well and circles away.
Carthew looks gassed!
Carthew takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Pereira drops Carthew with a huge uppercut! Carthew drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Pereira is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Thiago Pereira decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
