And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andrew Martin!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dixon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Martin somewhat.
Horrible takedown by Martin or perhaps it was just good defense by Dixon which made him look bad.
Nice sprawl there from Dixon as Martin shoots in.
Nolte Dixon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Martin.
Dixon misses with a two punch combination.
Andrew Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Martin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dixon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dixon stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.


It looks like Andrew Martin has been cut.
No joy there for Dixon, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Dixon throws a series of punches but Martin moves out of range.
Dixon misses with a jab, cross combination.
Martin tries for a takedown but Dixon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Dixon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Dixon lands a glancing blow to the side of Martin's head.
Martin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dixon's waist but Dixon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martin off to one side.
Dixon throws a right hand that Martin ducks under and follows up with a left that Martin also avoids with ease.
Dixon defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Martin.

and Martin counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Martin is looking for a kimura here.

Martin seems to be working for a kimura but Dixon defends the submission attempt.

Martin passes to side control.
Martin wants to control but Dixon is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Martin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dixon, who protects the arm well.

Dixon is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Martin is controlling him well.

Martin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Martin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dixon keeps working.

Martin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dixon avoids it really well and circles away.

Martin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dixon swivels and escapes.

Dixon lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Martin sprawling to the canvas. Dixon follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Martin hang on?

Martin is still in real trouble! Can Dixon finish him?

Martin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dixon pulls his head out easily.

Dixon is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Martin actively working from the bottom here.
Martin seems to have recovered his senses.
Martin wants to control but Dixon is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like Dixon is going to stand back up.
Martin moves into full guard.

Martin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Andrew Martin has got the better of the ground game so far.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Martin is on top in guard.

Martin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Martin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Dixon is wriggling around but Martin manages to pass to half guard.
Martin is taking a breather. Dixon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Martin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dixon sees it coming and defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Martin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dixon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Martin has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Dixon defend it? Martin steps over the head and cranks it - Dixon is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Martin!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Andrew Martin!
Andrew Martin took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'He didn't want to show up for our first scheduled fight. I guess I proved right here tonight exactly why that was!'.
