Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lauri Puukko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hois Kreisi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kreisi is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ella ja Aleksi - Kakkaa lumella. Hois Kreisi acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lauri Puukko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hois Kreisi!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puukko finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Puukko tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Kreisi counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Puukko gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kreisi to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kreisi working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kreisi is pushing down on Puukko's leg trying to pass to half guard. Puukko is fighting to maintain full guard but Kreisi has managed to sneak the leg through.

Kreisi wants to work for an arm triangle but Puukko is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kreisi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Puukko doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kreisi.
Kreisi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kreisi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Puukko is just riding it out for now. Kreisi eventually gives up the hold.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kreisi lands a nice short elbow.
Kreisi frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kreisi fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Puukko is squirming around, avoiding Kreisi's attempts to control the action.

Kreisi is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Puukko is surviving well by controlling Kreisi's body position as best he can.

Puukko has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kreisi thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Kreisi lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.

Kreisi throws a series of strikes and Puukko wriggles onto his back, so he's now mounted. He's in real trouble here.
Kreisi throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Puukko because Kreisi loaded up on that one.

Puukko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kreisi on the ground.

Kreisi looking to isolate an arm here. Puukko doesn't see it coming and as Kreisi extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Kreisi!
