Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Dyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rene Schweidler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Schweidler's choice of entrance music: IZ. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stephen Dyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rene Schweidler!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dyer throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Schweidler on the side of the head.


It looks like Rene Schweidler has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Schweidler tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dyer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Schweidler tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Dyer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dyer fails to land with a series of punches.
Dyer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Schweidler.
Schweidler tries to land a leg kick but Dyer saw it coming and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dyer cracks a nice hook into Schweidler's ribs.
Schweidler looks gassed!
Schweidler fails in his attempt to clinch.
Schweidler tries to score with a low kick but Dyer moves his leg out of the way.
Dyer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dyer tries for a takedown but Schweidler sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dyer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Schweidler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dyer moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Schweidler looks to clinch

and Dyer counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Schweidler avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Dyer.
Dyer advances to full mount.

Dyer jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Schweidler is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Schweidler and Dyer has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Schweidler wants to control but Dyer postures up.
Dyer tries to advance to mount but can't.
Dyer trying to control the action but Schweidler is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dyer with the ground and pound but Schweidler regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Dyer slips a nice elbow through Schweidler's hands, connecting with Schweidler's forehead.
Dyer seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dyer decides to stand and escape the position.
Dyer looks to land a combination but Schweidler avoids it well.
Dyer misses with a looping right.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dyer throws a series of punches but Schweidler avoids them all with ease.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Schweidler throws a lazy head kick
and Dyer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


That has opened up Rene Schweidler's cut even more.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Schweidler slips under a jab.
A lazy left from Dyer finds it's target.
Dyer lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Schweidler at a distance.
Rene Schweidler is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Dyer lands a big right hand that sends Schweidler crashing to the mat! Dyer stays standing though and waves Schweidler back to his feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stephen Dyer dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rene Schweidler's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dyer misses with a wild combination.
Schweidler gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.


Rene Schweidler's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rene Schweidler's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Stephen Dyer!
