Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Igor Prikhodko.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Squall misses.
Squall swings for the body but Soderberg moves out of range.
Soderberg walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Soderberg fails to land the takedown.
Squall misses with a straight left.
Soderberg shoots in for a takedown but Squall shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hjalmar Soderberg. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fighters circling - Squall throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Squall throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Soderberg takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Soderberg has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Squall finds it's way round the side to connect with Soderberg's head.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Soderberg.

Squall throws a sloppy body shot

so Soderberg counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Soderberg controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Soderberg is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Soderberg stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Squall swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Soderberg controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Soderberg wants to control from the top but Squall keeps moving.
Soderberg slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Soderberg trying to control the position from guard on top but Squall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We're going to have a standup here because Hjalmar Soderberg wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Squall throws a lazy uppercut

and Soderberg counters with a shoot takedown. Squall fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Squall controls Soderberg momentarily but Soderberg frees himself.

Soderberg pushes down on Squall's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Soderberg has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Squall defend it? Soderberg steps over the head and cranks it - Squall is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Soderberg!
