Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Smeg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Dove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gary Dove is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dove fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dove misses with a takedown
and Smeg makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Dove on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Smeg shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dove napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Dove unloads with some shots from mount but Smeg bucks and avoids them well.
Dove throwing strikes here but Smeg is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dove moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Smeg has worked his arm free - good work by Smeg!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Dove shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smeg sprawls well. Smeg wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dove gets slowly back to his feet.

Dove takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

That's time! Smeg's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Dove shoots for a double leg takedown but Smeg sprawls well. He's pushed Dove's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Smeg shoots in looking for a takedown but Dove manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Smeg's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Dove fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Smeg sprawls well initially but Dove persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Smeg is trying to maintain the position but Dove is very close to passing his half guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Dove with the ground and pound but Smeg uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Dove really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smeg. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dove can do anything to dispel that myth.
