The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Takayuki looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Chyn!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Takayuki is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Chyn has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Takayuki goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Chyn turns into him and now he's in Takayuki's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Takayuki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Chyn pulls his head out easily.
Takayuki is not content to let Chyn control the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chyn wants to work for an arm triangle but Takayuki is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Takayuki has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chyn is working away from the top position though.

Chyn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Takayuki has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chyn has managed to get both his arms back between Takayuki's legs - danger averted.

That was a close round but I would say that Ryu Chyn will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Takayuki has gone for a leg lock! Chyn slips out almost immediately though and dives into Takayuki's guard.
Ryu Chyn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Takayuki is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chyn is aware though and is defending well.

Takayuki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chyn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Chyn wants to control from the top but Takayuki keeps moving.

A left and a right from Chyn both land. Nice combination.
Chyn connects with a leg kick. Takayuki looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Ryu Chyn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Takayuki misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Takayuki is breathing heavily.
Chyn lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Chyn swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Takayuki seems to have recovered his senses.

Chyn throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Takayuki's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Chyn dives in looking to finish as Takayuki flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Chyn's strikes! Chyn is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Takayuki's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Takayuki was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
