Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Victor Viriato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Volodin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Viktor Volodin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Viktor Volodin!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volodin moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Victor Viriato has been cut.
Viriato showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Volodin.
Volodin instigates a clinch.
Volodin tries to pull guard but Viriato forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Volodin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Viriato takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Viriato moves into range and clinches up with Volodin.

Viriato had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Volodin defends it easily.

Volodin stands and throws Viriato's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Volodin goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Viriato has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Volodin but great work by Viriato.

Volodin shoots for a double leg takedown but Viriato sprawls well. He's pushed Volodin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Viriato clinches with his opponent.
Viriato pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Viriato shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Volodin sprawls well. Volodin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Viriato gets slowly back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Volodin is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Viriato to keep the fight standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Viktor Volodin will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Viriato's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Volodin walks into a straight right hand from Viriato.

Viriato throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Volodin's head.
Viriato closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Volodin tries for a takedown. No joy.
Viriato breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Volodin moves into the clinch.
Viriato escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Volodin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Viriato has taken the fight to the clinch.
Viriato manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Volodin wants to pass to mount but Viriato is defending the position.

Viriato pushes Volodin off looking to stand but Volodin dives back in and keeps control.
Volodin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Viriato is just riding it out for now. Volodin eventually gives up the hold.

Volodin in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Viriato tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Volodin!
