Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Omar Mendes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex Voss!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voss shoots in but no luck this time.
Voss fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mendes lands with a cross.
Omar Mendes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mendes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mendes misses with a hook. Voss ducked under it nicely.
Mendes throws a series of punches but Voss moves out of range.
Mendes swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Voss.
Voss is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

enabling Mendes to counter with a crisp jab.

Voss shoots for a double leg takedown but Mendes sprawls well. He's pushed Voss's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mendes works over Voss's head and body with a nice combination.

Mendes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mendes avoids a series of strikes thrown by Voss.
Mendes holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Voss tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Voss tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Mendes throws a right hand that Voss ducks under and follows up with a left that Voss also avoids with ease.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mendes, as that shot connected.

Voss misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Voss is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Mendes.
Mendes stalks Voss and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Voss's face. Voss staggers backwards, shaken.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Voss is defended easily by Mendes.
