The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez has a takedown stuffed.
A punch combination from Diaz misses.
Diaz wants to clinch.
Gomez shoots in for a takedown but Diaz shows good takedown defense.
Gomez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Diaz's waist but Diaz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gomez off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andre Gomez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Diaz throws a right hand that Gomez ducks under and follows up with a left that Gomez also avoids with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gomez tries for a takedown but Diaz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Diaz misses with a series of wild punches.

Gomez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Diaz is fending him off so far but Gomez persists. Nope, Diaz circles away and we're back to standing.
Diaz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Diaz.

Diaz throws a right and a left that Gomez avoids nicely.
Gomez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Diaz pinned against the cage. Diaz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Diaz tries to stand but can't do so whilst Gomez controls his leg.
Gomez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Diaz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Diaz's back!

Gomez is cranking Diaz's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Diaz! He's tightened the choke and Diaz is tapping out!
