The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barrett closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Barrett tries to pass to full mount but Yamamoto defends it.
Barrett is working for a kimura but Yamamoto is defending it quite comfortably.
Yamamoto flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Barrett prevents Yamamoto from improving his position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Yamamoto misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Barrett is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Barrett is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yamamoto is just riding it out for now. Barrett eventually gives up the hold.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Yamamoto is looking to clinch.
Go Yamamoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yamamoto moves in looking to clinch but Barrett pushes him off.
Yamamoto takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Yamamoto tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Barrett paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Yamamoto doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Barrett counters with a single leg into guard. Yamamoto didn't expect that.

Barrett tries to free his leg and advance position but Yamamoto is retaining full guard.
Barrett drops back, looking for a kneebar! Yamamoto looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Yamamoto looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Yamamoto!
Barrett is looking to reverse the position.
Barrett is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Yamamoto off and has taken his back!
Barrett is breathing heavily.

Barrett has got his arm under Yamamoto's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Yamamoto has spun round into Barrett's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
