Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steven Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Powers has chosen Californication as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jimmy Powers!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Park throws a combination. Powers tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Jimmy Powers has been cut.
Park throws a hook to the side of Powers's head but Powers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Powers shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Park is trying to defend but Powers finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Powers thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Park's head.

It looks like Powers might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Powers is nestled in close to Park, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Park tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Powers manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Park lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Powers circles away quickly and effectively.

Powers throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Powers shoots in looking for a takedown but Park manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Powers's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Park moves forwards but Powers connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Powers throws a shot from downtown. Park moves away and avoids it.

Steven Park has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Powers.

Powers throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Park on the side of the head.

Powers has closed the distance and engaged Park in a clinch.
Powers blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Park lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Powers backwards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Powers wants to take the fight to the mat but Park manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Jimmy Powers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Powers goes for a takedown attempt but Park pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Park lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Powers lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Park backwards.

Powers has Park pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Park manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Well Powers has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
