Vickers is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Blue Stahli - So So Bad. Stephen Vickers has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diasov shoots in for a takedown but Vickers shows good takedown defense.
Vickers moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Diasov takes a swing at Vickers's ribcage but misses.
Diasov tries to clinch there but Vickers circles away.
Vickers tries to clinch up.
Diasov misses with a series of wild punches.
Vickers wants to clinch up but Diasov keeps it at a distance.

Diasov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vickers was covering up waiting for the punch and Diasov finishes the takedown easily into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Diasov prevents Vickers from getting back to his feet.
Diasov missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Diasov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Diasov won't allow Vickers to sweep him here.

Vickers looking to control but Diasov passes into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Diasov uses his free foot to push down on Vickers's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Vickers.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vickers tries to lock up and control but Diasov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vickers can do anything to dispel that myth.

Diasov wants to finish this one by submission but Vickers is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Diasov.
Vickers is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Vickers is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Diasov is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Diasov!
