Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brus Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marijo Palavra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Li might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Blue Bob - Go Get Some. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brus Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marijo Palavra!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Li throws a body kick that misses.
Palavra with a lazy takedown attempt
and Li counters with a nice body kick.
Li scores with a shot to the body.
Palavra fails with a takedown attempt.
Palavra tries to score a power double leg takedown but Li sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Palavra somewhat.
Brus Li has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marijo Palavra.
An inside leg kick lands from Li.
Li misses with a body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Li leaves Palavra with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Palavra tries to score a power double leg takedown but Li sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Palavra somewhat.
Li throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Li lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Palavra misses with a takedown
and Li counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Li doesn't manage to clinch there - Palavra circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Palavra closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Li is pressing down on Palavra's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Palavra looking to sit in guard and control but Li gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Li controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Li wants to control from the top but Palavra keeps moving.
Li is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Palavra is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Brus Li has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Li misses with a double jab.
Palavra tries for a takedown but Li sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Li leaves Palavra with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Li lands a jab to Palavra's midsection.
Li is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Palavra.

Palavra shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Palavra was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Palavra lands a nice shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Palavra looking to land elbow strikes but Li uses the position to regain half guard.

Palavra is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Li has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brus Li dominated that round.

Palavra moves out of range of the strikes.
Li lands a head shot.
Horrible takedown by Palavra or perhaps it was just good defense by Li which made him look bad.
Li lands a really nice looking cross but Palavra seems unphased.
Li doesn't manage to clinch there - Palavra circles away.
Li getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Palavra is rocked!
Li lands with a right and another and another! Palavra is in big trouble! Li lands again and this time it's lights out for Palavra! A quality knockout there for Li.
