Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ilja Vasuta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasuta kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is E.S. Posthumus Unstoppable . Ilja Vasuta has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Sanders!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasuta moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Vasuta delivers a nice body kick.

Vasuta looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Vasuta is working for a kimura but Sanders is defending it quite comfortably.

Sanders is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vasuta pulls his head out easily.
Vasuta will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Vasuta is looking for a kimura but Sanders is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vasuta to get the leverage.
Vasuta with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vasuta is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sanders defends it well.

Vasuta is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Sanders is looking to control Vasuta's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sanders avoid being mounted?

Vasuta is working for a submission of some sort.

Sanders looks like he's trying to stand up.
Sanders is trying to get back to full guard.

Vasuta wants to control but Sanders is keeping him busy.
Sanders trying to hold on to Vasuta's head to control him but Vasuta postures up.
Sanders is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Vasuta is staying active.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by James Sanders.
Sanders avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sanders shoots in for a takedown but Vasuta shows good takedown defense.
Sanders closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vasuta circles away.
Sanders fails with the takedown.
Ilja Vasuta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Sanders.
Vasuta clobbers Sanders with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Sanders shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vasuta as he avoids it easily.
Vasuta feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Sanderss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Sanders takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Sanders looks gassed!
Vasuta feints a jab and as Sanders dips his head, Vasuta unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Sanders right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Sanders falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Vasuta smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Ilja Vasuta!
Post fight, Ilja Vasuta took to the microphone: 'Thank You for supporting me. I will fight again very soon. '.
