Carvalho comes to the cage accompanied by Deaths gates by Morbid Angel. The crowd seem to be enjoying Couture's choice of entrance music: theres no easy way out . Carnivore Carvalho has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture tries to clinch but Carvalho moves out of range.
Couture fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carvalho avoids it really well and circles away.

Couture is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Carvalho to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Carvalho shrugs it off.
Carvalho is looking to improve his position but Couture isn't that keen on the idea.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Carvalho wants to control but Couture is having none of it.

Couture has control of Carvalho's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Carvalho regains control of the situation pretty easily.

BOOM! Couture connects with a massive shot to the dome!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Couture looks for a takedown but Carvalho sprawls well.

and Carvalho counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Carnivore Carvalho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randy Couture.
Carvalho works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
