The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Kuikka. No joy for Burd on that attempt.
Kuikka looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Burd shoots in for a takedown but Kuikka shows good takedown defense.
Burd shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kuikka but Kuikka pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Burd. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Burd counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kuikka's guard now.
Burd is standing up over Kuikka. Kuikka looks to escape but Burd dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Burd has an Americana. Kuikka didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Burd is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Burd hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
