Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Jose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rico Sosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rico Sosa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jackson Jose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rico Sosa!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jose displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Sosa throws a series of punches but Jose avoids them all with ease.
Jose uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sosa.
Jose blocks a head kick by Sosa.
Sosa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jose manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jose swats away the attempt to clinch by Sosa.
Sosa wants to clinch.
Sosa dives in and grabs Jose's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jose pushes down on Sosa's head and hops out.
Sosa is looking to clinch but Jose is avoiding it.

Sosa closes the distance and clinches.
Sosa is trying to drag Jose to the mat but Jose just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Sosa has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Jose is trying to keep an underhook but Sosa manages to get the takedown into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sosa is controlling the pace.
Jose is refusing to be controlled, as Sosa sits in half guard.
Sosa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jose. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jose pushes Sosa off and gets back to his feet.

Jose throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sosa was covering up waiting for the punch and Jose finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jose gets to his feet - Sosa follows without any prompting.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jose has a takedown stuffed.
Jose will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sosa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jose swivels and escapes.
Jackson Jose has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rico Sosa.
Sosa throws a head kick but Jose moves out of range.

Sosa gets a takedown into half guard.
Sosa looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jose is doing well to control the position and prevent Sosa from advancing to side control.

Sosa is working for a submission of some sort.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jose wants to control but Sosa is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jose misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Jose is concentrating on defense, preventing Sosa from advancing position.
Jose regains full guard. Nicely done.
Jose lands an upkick as Sosa stands over him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sosa wants to control from the top but Jose keeps moving.

Jose looking for a guillotine here but Sosa defends easily.

Jose pushes Sosa off and scrambles back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sosa misses with a head kick.
Sosa is looking to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jackson Jose will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Jose bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jose cracks Sosa with a big right hand but Sosa just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Jose decides to stand back up.
Sosa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jose tries to avoid it but Sosa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jose to the ground. Jose escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jose throws a head kick that misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jose feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Sosa's calf.

Jose pushes Sosa up against the cage in a clinch.

Sosa successfully pulls guard.

Jose drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jose jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Sosa being controlled here, momentarily.
Sosa is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jose seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sosa for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jose stands up and waves to Sosa to follow him.

Jose closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jose lands in his opponent's guard.
Jose trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Jose distracts Sosa with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sosa is looking to stand up but Jose isn't so interested in that idea.

Jose gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Jose scores with a nice head shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sosa has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Jose looking to score a takedown here. Sosa is defending well but Jose drives through and ends up in Sosa's guard.
Jose is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Jose stands up from Sosa's guard - Jose perhaps looking for a knockout.
Jose lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jose shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Jose seems to be looking for submissions.
Jose wants to take a breather but Sosa is having none of it.

Jose is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Sosa is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jackson Jose!
