Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Frans Desmit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Skyler Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson has chosen One as his entrance music. Skyler Nelson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Skyler Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nelson gets caught napping as Desmit dives in and scores a takedown. Nelson manages to retain guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Desmit looking to pass the guard.
Nelson looking for a sweep. Not yet Nelson, not yet.
Desmit postures up and lands a big shot to Nelson's brow.

Nelson is looking for a triangle but Desmit pushes his legs off easily.
Desmit postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Desmit lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Desmit stands up over Nelson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Desmit is in close to Nelson's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Nelson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Desmit can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Desmit drops back looking for a leg! Nelson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nelson manages to kick Desmit off! Desmit jumps back into Nelson's guard.

Nelson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Desmit gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Nelson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Desmit is aware though and is defending well.
Desmit works over Nelson with some ground and pound from guard.
Desmit throwing strikes from guard but Nelson blocks nicely.
Desmit throws a strike but Nelson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Nelson trying to control the position from guard on top but Desmit is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Desmit working for a triangle but Nelson defends it easily.
Nelson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Desmit is keeping the position for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Desmit lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nelson!

Desmit is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Nelson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Nelson shrugs it off.
Desmit with a couple of short strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nelson is trying to escape the mount.
Desmit breaks from Nelson's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Nelson working to try and regain half guard.
The referee warns Nelson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Desmit is landing with some decent strikes but Nelson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Nelson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nelson is bucking up trying to escape but Desmit cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nelson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Desmit lands a big shot there that rocks Nelson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Nelson is rocked!
Desmit postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Nelson bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Desmit and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frans Desmit!
A relieved looking Frans Desmit thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
