Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Spencer Wilhelmy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santhiago Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spencer Wilhelmy had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Santhiago Silva!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilhelmy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Silva is trying to keep Wilhelmy in close.
Wilhelmy working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Silva's head.
Silva thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Silva keeping moving, preventing Wilhelmy from controlling successfully.
Wilhelmy advances to half guard.
Silva looks gassed!
Silva trying to hold on to Wilhelmy's head to control him but Wilhelmy postures up.
Wilhelmy is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Wilhelmy is looking for a kimura but Silva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wilhelmy to get the leverage.

Wilhelmy wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy.
Wilhelmy is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Wilhelmy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Silva is looking to control Wilhelmy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Silva avoid being mounted?
Wilhelmy is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wilhelmy connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The referee warns Silva that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Silva is trying to reverse the position but instead Wilhelmy has taken his back - oops!

Silva is in a bad position with Wilhelmy working for a choke. Silva manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.

Wilhelmy looking for a guillotine here but Silva defends easily.
Silva wants to stand and escape but instead Wilhelmy has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wilhelmy decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Wilhelmy has managed to clinch.
Silva pushes off an throws an elbow but Wilhelmy leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Wilhelmy wants the takedown. Silva is fighting it off but Wilhelmy persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Silva's guard against the cage.
Wilhelmy tries to stand but Silva is controlling from the bottom.

Silva looking for a guillotine here but Wilhelmy defends easily.
Silva has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Wilhelmy has passed into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wilhelmy lands a decent elbow from side control.
Wilhelmy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.
Silva is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Wilhelmy asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Wilhelmy lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Silva down.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wilhelmy lands a decent elbow from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spencer Wilhelmy dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Horrible takedown by Wilhelmy or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.
Wilhelmy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Wilhelmy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Wilhelmy forces Silva back against the cage and clinches.
Silva swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Wilhelmy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wilhelmy throws a leg kick but Silva sees it coming and moves out of range.
Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wilhelmy's waist but Wilhelmy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side.

Wilhelmy clinches up with Silva and pushes him back against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Silva's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Wilhelmy tries to land knees in the clinch but Silva avoids the damage to the body.

Silva breaks from the clinch.
Wilhelmy looks for a takedown but Silva sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Spencer Wilhelmy. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wilhelmy takes a jab right on the kisser.

Wilhelmy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Silva was covering up waiting for the punch and Wilhelmy finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wilhelmy stands and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Wilhelmy has hold of Silva's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Silva tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Wilhelmy cranks the arm and Silva screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Silva, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
