Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Baumgardner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Durrant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Durrant has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brian Baumgardner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Durrant!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baumgardner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Durrant as he avoids it easily.

Durrant decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Durrant is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Baumgardner off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Baumgardner escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Durrant gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Baumgardner had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Durrant is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Baumgardner Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Durrant's back instead.
