Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryu Takashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxi Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryu Takashi has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryu Takashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Maxi Silva!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takashi stuns Silva with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Silva gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Takashi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Takashi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Takashi has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ryu Takashi.

Silva manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Takashi on his heels. He'll look to pass Takashi's guard now, I'm sure.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Maxi Silva hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Silva avoids the body shot from Takashi.
Takashi lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Takashi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

That was a close round but I would say that Ryu Takashi will probably get the nod.

Takashi comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Takashi throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Silva on the side of the head.

Ryu Takashi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Maxi Silva was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Silva shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Silva was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Silva decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Takashi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Silva is taking a breather. Takashi says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Takashi is trying to trip Silva. He has hold of a leg but Silva is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Takashi persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Takashi.

Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Takashi's guard.

Maxi Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Silva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
