The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vega slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Assante fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Vega looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Assante shoots in for a takedown but Vega shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Assante swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Vega misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Andrey Vega is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Vega throws a nice looking combination but Assante bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Assante throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Vega bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Assante's head backwards.
Vega looks to land a combination but Assante avoids it well.
Vega works over Assante's head and body with a nice combination.
Vega wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Assante with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Vega to score with a decent uppercut.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Assante. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Assante misses with a takedown attempt - Vega sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Vega connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Assante! He's out on his feet! Vega rushes in and drops Assante with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
