Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Connelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Marshall!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marshall throws a right and a left that both miss.
Marshall misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ryan Marshall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Connelly instigates a clinch.
Marshall has had enough of the clinch but Connelly keeps him there for the moment.
Marshall takes an elbow to the temple.
Connelly stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Connelly has Marshall pressed against the cage, preventing Marshall from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Marshall wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Connelly has him pressed against the cage.

Connelly closes the distance and clinches.
Connelly gets through Marshall's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Marshall is looking to break free of the clinch but Connelly has double underhooks.
Marshall has had enough of the clinch but Connelly keeps him there for the moment.

Connelly breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Connelly decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Connelly working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Connelly rushes Marshall and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Connelly closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Marshall drops back looking for a leg! Connelly is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Connelly manages to kick Marshall off! Marshall jumps back into Connelly's guard.
