These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Porterfield moves in looking to clinch but Reese pushes him off.

Porterfield takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Porterfield tries to sprawl but Reese drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Reese is nestled in close to Porterfield, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Reese looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Porterfield with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
