The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salamander lands with an overhand left.
Silva throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Silva tries to clinch up but Salamander circles away and keeps his distance.
Salamander does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Silva uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Salamander.
Salamander swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva.
Silva wants to clinch up but Salamander keeps it at a distance.
Salamander dodges the punch combination from Silva.

Silva lands a big head kick that sends Salamander tumbling to the mat! Silva takes a step backwards and waves Salamander back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Ivan Salamander has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Salamander fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silva sprawls well initially but Salamander persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Salamander passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Silva!

Silva takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Salamander has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Silva's face.

A big strike lands for Salamander! That's really hurt Silva and he's turned his back - Salamander keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Salamander jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
