Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luther Heggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Underhill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Underhill's choice of entrance music: Chimaira - Warpath. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luther Heggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Underhill!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heggs clinches up against the cage.
Heggs swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Heggs lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Heggs has had enough of the clinch but Underhill keeps him there for the moment.
Underhill throws a head punch that misses.
Underhill tries to throw a body punch but Heggs avoids it by throwing Underhill back against the cage.
Heggs misses with a body punch.
Heggs has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Heggs swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Heggs pushes Underhill back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Underhill stalling the fight.
Underhill has Heggs pressed against the cage, preventing Heggs from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Underhill tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Heggs digs a right hand into Underhill's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Underhill's gas tank.
Underhill misses with a hook to the ribs.

Heggs breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Heggs wants to clinch up but Underhill keeps it at a distance.
A telegraphed right hand from Underhill misses the target.
Heggs avoids the body shot from Underhill.
Underhill thows a body shot but no joy.
Underhill tries to bum rush Heggs with a series of wild strikes but Heggs uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A punch combination from Underhill misses.
Heggs closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
The fighters circle momentarily. Underhill darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Underhill avoids a punch combination nicely.

Heggs misses with a body kick.
Heggs staying out of range there.
Underhill comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Underhill lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Underhill blocks a jab.
Mike Underhill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Underhill fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Heggs manages to avoid it.
Heggs tries to close the distance and clinch but Underhill swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Oooooh!!! Underhill has knocked Heggs down with a huge combo! Underhill steps away and waves a wobbly Heggs back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


It looks like Luther Heggs has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Heggs avoids the body shot from Underhill.
Underhill throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Heggs clinches.
Heggs tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Underhill blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Heggs breaks the clinch.
Underhill with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Heggs pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Underhill, as that shot connected.

Heggs takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Underhill misses with a body shot
and Heggs cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Underhill bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Underhill fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Heggs manages to avoid it.
Underhill misses the shot to the body.

Underhill cracks Heggs with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Heggs looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Underhill finish him?
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Heggs closes the distance and clinches.
Heggs misses with a short punch on the inside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Underhill dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Luther Heggs's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Heggs stuffs the takedown attempt from Underhill. Underhill gets slowly back to his feet.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Underhill. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Heggs uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Underhill.
Underhill throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Underhill takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Underhill scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Underhill misses the jab.
Heggs tries to clinch but Underhill moves away
and Underhill counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Underhill misses the shot to the body.
Underhill connects with a body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Underhill. Heggs does a little dance to reset his feet.
Heggs takes one on the button.
Underhill swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Heggs tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Underhill manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Underhill connects with a good right hand that stumbles Heggs. Heggs circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Sloppy strikes from Heggs. Those never looked like landing.

Underhill shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Heggs's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Underhill throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Heggs works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Underhill stands up over Heggs, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Underhill accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Underhill looking to sit in guard and control but Heggs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Underhill is on top in guard.
Underhill throws an elbow that misses. Heggs uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Underhill's guard. Nice move by Heggs!
Underhill is looking to sweep but instead, Heggs has passed into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Underhill is trying is best to control the position here.
Underhill makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Underhill.
Underhill looking for a sweep. Not yet Underhill, not yet.

Heggs gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Luther Heggs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Underhill moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Underhill misses with a body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Underhill showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The crowd cheers as Underhill lands an impressive looking overhand right. Heggs doesn't seem phased though.

Underhill closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Heggs! Underhill dives in looking to finish! Heggs is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Underhill!
