Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Marx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Aint no sunshine - DMX. Anderson Silva will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 12 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Marx!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Anderson Silva!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marx walks into a left hand.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Marx tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Marx to the ground. Marx escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Silva wants to clinch up but Marx keeps it at a distance.
Silva blocks a head kick by Marx.
Silva listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Silva misses with a hook.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Marx.
Marx fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Silva checks it well.
Silva misses with a body shot.
Silva stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Marx.
Silva throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Marx is looking to land body kicks.
Marx lands with a nice body punch.

Silva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Silva throws a hook to the side of Marx's head but Marx sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Marx dives in and grabs Silva's left leg, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes down on Marx's head and hops out.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Marx fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Marx is defended easily by Silva.

Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Marx tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Marx to the ground. Marx escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Marx moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Silva is trying to push Marx away but Marx has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Marx is looking to take this one to the mat.
Marx tries to score a body lock takedown but Silva shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Silva lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Silva closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Marx manages to break the clinch.
Silva shoots for a takedown but Marx saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Marx tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Marx manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Silva looks to land a right hand but Marx moved out of range.
Silva throws a right and a left that Marx avoids nicely.
Silva misses with a jab, cross combination.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Silva cracks Marx with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Silva looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Anderson Silva will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Marx thuds his right hand into Silva's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Silva has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Marx moves away from the strike by Silva.
Marx throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Silva.

It looks like Anderson Silva has been cut.
A head kick misses from Marx.
Mark Marx is winning the standup battle so far.
Silva takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Silva throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Silva is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Marx which made him look bad.

Nice uppercut lands for Marx. That snapped Silva's head back.

Marx decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Marx is nestled in close to Silva, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Silva is still in real trouble! Can Marx finish him?

Silva tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Marx has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Marx tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Silva takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Marx's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
