Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edmundo Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Rossi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hugo Rossi will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Edmundo Jr!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hugo Rossi!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Jr with that takedown attempt.
Rossi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jr moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Jr decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Rossi is pressing down on Jr's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Jr with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Jr stands up over Rossi, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Rossi has his foot on Jr's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jr works his way back into a safe position though.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jr's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Rossi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jr's guard.

Rossi postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jr is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rossi, into his guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Edmundo Jr will probably get the nod.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jr connects with a nice short shot to Rossi's temple.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jr cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Jr has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rossi's face.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rossi throws a right and a left that Jr avoids nicely.

Rossi tries to clinch but Jr is having none of it.
Rossi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
