Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tim Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Jose Silva Lock And Submit kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Tim Duncan could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jose Silva's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Duncan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Silva!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Silva enables Duncan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Silva manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Duncan stays in close to Silva's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tim Duncan.

We're going to have a standup here because Tim Duncan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close second round but I would say that Tim Duncan will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Duncan shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Duncan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Duncan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Duncan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Duncan is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Silva is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Duncan off and has taken his back!

Silva is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Duncan has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Duncan is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Silva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Duncan tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Silva goes for an armbar but Duncan turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Duncan.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Duncan distracts Silva with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Duncan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
