Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between BJ Ferguson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sonny Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). BJ Ferguson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lopez rushes Ferguson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ferguson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Lopez pulls guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Ferguson trying to control but Lopez is working from the bottom.
Lopez seems keen to control Ferguson's posture.
Lopez controls Ferguson momentarily but Ferguson frees himself.
Lopez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ferguson is one step ahead there.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Sonny Lopez wasn't active enough on the ground.
Ferguson on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Lopez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ferguson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ferguson stuffs the takedown.
Lopez tries to clinch but Ferguson moves out of range.
Lopez fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Lopez fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ferguson to the ground. Lopez is now in Ferguson's guard.
Lopez controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Lopez tries to free his leg and advance position but Ferguson is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ferguson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lopez is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ferguson.

Lopez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Lopez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ferguson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Ferguson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Ferguson is trying to control Lopez's posture but Lopez avoids it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lopez tries to move into full mount but can't pass Ferguson's legs.

You can see the frustration on Ferguson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Lopez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ferguson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lopez is looking to take a break and control but Ferguson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lopez decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ferguson to his feet.

Ferguson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Lopez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Lopez content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Lopez keeps control of Ferguson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Lopez is working for takedown but Ferguson is calmly controlling the position for now.
BJ Ferguson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sonny Lopez.
Lopez gets underhooks to prevent Ferguson's takedown attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lopez has hold of one of Ferguson's legs. Ferguson is fighting the takedown attempt but Lopez gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ferguson is on top in guard.
Lopez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ferguson is one step ahead there.

Lopez moves into range and clinches up with Ferguson.
Lopez can't find room to land a body shot as Ferguson controls the action.
Lopez is trying to drag Ferguson to the mat but Ferguson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Lopez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ferguson tries for a takedown but Lopez circles away easily
and Lopez counters with a big head kick but Ferguson shrugs it off.

Ferguson is rocked!

Lopez closes the distance looking for a takedown. Lopez picks Ferguson up and slams him brutally to the floor. Ferguson is out! He's out cold! Wow, you don't see a finish like that every day!
