Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy McFadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by Calvin Harris - Feel So Close (Nero Remix). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dick Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andy McFadden!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McFadden shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Diaz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

McFadden avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Diaz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Diaz wants to free his trapped foot but McFadden is holding on for dear life with his legs.
McFadden is trying to stand back up but Diaz is controlling him
McFadden moves into full guard.
McFadden keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully.
McFadden tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Diaz wants to control from the top but McFadden keeps moving.
McFadden is wriggling around but Diaz manages to pass to half guard.

Diaz is trying to control the action in half guard but McFadden is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
McFadden slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McFadden striking off his back but it's not causing Diaz any problems.

McFadden looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Diaz has picked McFadden up and slammed him! McFadden can't keep hold of the triangle and Diaz manages to pass to side control!

Diaz is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but McFadden is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Diaz stands up.
Dick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz misses with a takedown attempt

and McFadden counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Diaz's guard now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McFadden working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Diaz's head.
McFadden stands up over Diaz, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Diaz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McFadden working some strikes from top position.
Diaz utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
McFadden wants to stand but Diaz has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Diaz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McFadden gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
McFadden throws a strike but Diaz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

McFadden has his foot on Diaz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Diaz works his way back into a safe position though.

McFadden can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Diaz controls the pace.

McFadden had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Diaz defends it easily.

McFadden looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

McFadden is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Diaz is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Diaz wants to control from the top but McFadden keeps moving.

Diaz gets to his feet. McFadden looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
McFadden scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Diaz doesn't seem bothered though.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McFadden tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Diaz drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McFadden manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diaz is trying desperately to improve position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Diaz sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
McFadden throwing shots but Diaz is blocking nicely.
Diaz tries to get to full guard but McFadden has control of the leg.
McFadden takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Diaz is looking to control McFadden's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Diaz avoid being mounted?

McFadden takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Oh Diaz is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
McFadden scores with a big shot! Diaz's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Diaz! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andy McFadden!
After the fight, Andy McFadden was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
