Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Shepard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Doo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Shepard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fred Doo!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doo is looking to land body kicks.
Doo throws a leg kick but Shepard sees it coming and moves out of range.
Doo closes the distance looking to clinch

and Shepard counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Fred Doo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Shepard throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Doo was covering up waiting for the punch and Shepard finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Doo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shepard defends it easily.

Shepard closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Doo manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Shepard tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shepard has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Doo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shepard can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well Shepard has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
