Messinger comes to the cage accompanied by Huckleberry by Ichabod. Will Messinger has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian McDonald!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald is trying hard to land a takedown here. Messinger sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
McDonald should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Messinger scores with a head kick. McDonald tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
That has opened up Brian McDonald's cut even more.
Will Messinger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McDonald gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Messinger to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
McDonald avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Messinger avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Messinger will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Messinger decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
McDonald moves into the clinch successfully.

Messinger lands a nice knee to the body.
McDonald drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Messinger gets the underhooks and prevents it.
McDonald looks gassed!
Messinger avoids a wild elbow strike from McDonald.
Messinger has clasped his hands together around McDonald's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Messinger has an Americana. McDonald didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Messinger is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Messinger hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
