Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Samuel De Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demetryos Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think De Lucas might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Apaga mais não bate. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Samuel De Lucas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Demetryos Alves!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Lucas shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Alves manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
De Lucas controls from within his opponent's guard.
De Lucas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
De Lucas forces his way into half guard.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

We're going to have a standup here because Samuel De Lucas wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Alves throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around De Lucas's waist but De Lucas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alves off to one side.
Alves fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Samuel De Lucas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Demetryos Alves.

De Lucas throws a nice looking combination but Alves bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A solid leg kick lands there for De Lucas.
Alves looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

De Lucas tightens his grip and picks Alves up, before dumping him to the ground. Alves manages to land in guard.

Alves working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. De Lucas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. De Lucas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
De Lucas is pushing down on Alves's leg trying to pass to half guard. Alves is fighting to maintain full guard but De Lucas has managed to sneak the leg through.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
De Lucas seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Alves for as long as he can get away with.
De Lucas has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De Lucas postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Alves looks a forlorn figure.

De Lucas has hold of Alves's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Alves manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

De Lucas lands a nice shot to the head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alves is desperately trying to improve his position but De Lucas has a good base and remains in mount.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
De Lucas could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Samuel De Lucas has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
De Lucas swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Alves crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from De Lucas - the referee stops the clock and Alves gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says De Lucas. Alves manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
De Lucas just misses with a punch to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alves tries to score a power double leg takedown but De Lucas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alves somewhat.

Samuel De Lucas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

De Lucas cracks Alves with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Alves can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as De Lucas controls the pace.
De Lucas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Samuel De Lucas.

De Lucas throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Alves tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. De Lucas is in Alves's guard.
De Lucas stays in close to Alves's body and controls the position.

Alves has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but De Lucas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
Samuel De Lucas showed his dominance in that final round.
Well De Lucas has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
