The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferguson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Combs to the mat! Combs manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Combs is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ferguson is aware though and is defending well.

Ferguson has hold of Combs's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Combs manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Ferguson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Combs has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Combs!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Combs enables Ferguson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Combs manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Combs has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ferguson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Combs.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Ferguson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
